Garage door repair · Cables
Cables hold the weight of your garage door as it opens and closes. A frayed or snapped cable makes the door unsafe to use. Our technicians replace the cables and balance the door again.
We give you the service call price on the phone before we book. Emergency service is available 24/7.
We call you back within 15 minutes during business hours.
There is one cable on each side of the door, next to the track. Each cable runs from a bracket near the floor up to a drum above the door. The cables and the springs work together to lift the door.
When a spring or a cable breaks, the other parts must carry more weight. The door becomes heavy and hard to lift. If you continue to use the opener, the motor can burn out.
Safety first
Leave the door closed and do not use the opener. A door with a broken cable can hang crooked or fall. Call 419-924-5533. Emergency service is available 24/7.

Cables wear and fray over time, and a badly frayed cable can snap. Rust and worn drums also damage cables. Cables can break when a spring breaks and the door is still used.
Cables usually last 8 to 15 years. Routine maintenance helps them last longer.
This is normal. The cables carry the weight of the door as it moves. When the door is fully open, the springs hold the door and the cables become slack.
The price depends on your door and on whether other parts, such as the drums or springs, also need work. You get the exact price before any work begins.
Springs and cables share the weight of the door. We check both.
